Welder / Pipefitter

Perform welding and fabricating activities, including various types of welds and layouts, with some installation and maintenance of piping systems. Follow blueprints, sketches, and standard procedures to assemble, repair, and maintain industrial structures, tanks, pressure vessels, and piping systems.
- Layout, fit, and weld components to assemble structural forms according to blueprints.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment.
- Plan sequence of installation to ensure effective communication between phases.
- Assist outside contractors with facilities, operations, and utilities knowledge.
- Perform work based on preventive maintenance schedules and other job-related duties.
- ASME certification for pressure vessels (or ability to obtain within 1 year).
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and sketches.
- Knowledge of geometry, metal properties, machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
- Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including days, evenings, nights, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Four years of experience in welding and/or pipefitting trade.
- High school, technical school, apprenticeship, or trade school graduate.
- U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
- Ability to write correspondence and present information effectively in one-on-one or small group situations.
- Work may require operating industrial machinery, power tools, and motor vehicles.
- Activities may include walking, bending, squatting, and carrying materials.
- Lifting over 50 pounds requires two or more persons.
- Strict adherence to safety guidelines and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
